Jewells is one of the finest draft horses I've ever owned or ridden. She's a registered 17-year-old black and white Tobiano Spotted Draft mare standing at an awesome 17.3 hands. Jewells is registered with the North American Spotted Draft Horse Association as a Premium Draft, and her registered name is Meadowlark Acres Jewell. Only Spotted Drafts who are 7/8 or more draft blood, with no Appaloosa, pony, donkey, mule, gaited horses, saddlebred, or Gypsy Vanner/ Irish Tinker blood can be registered as Premium Drafts. She has an outstanding conformation; she's built like a brick house with a gorgeous head and stunning ice blue eye against a black coat. She is hands down the smoothest horse I've ever had the pleaure of riding. You can jog or canter her bareback without even the slightest hint of a bump. She's so stoic and confident, it never occurs to you that she might buck, spook, or stumble. She's absolutely phenomenal. In fact, for those of you old enough to remember the Massengil commercial, riding her reminds me of the girl riding the black horse on the beach at a canter with her white chiffon dress billowing in the breeze - s m o o t h and free.
But to get down to the facts, Jewells has good feet and will let you pick up all four. You may note that when I pick up her back foot, she doesn't even have a halter on her head and isn't tied to anything. She's easy to catch, to bridle, to bathe, and to ride. In fact, Jewells rides and drives single and double with her half sister, Spring, who is also for sale. She's traffic safe and dog friendly. Jewells is safe for riders of all ages and experience levels. And one thing's for sure, you'll never have to ask your riding buddies, "Does this horse make my butt look big?" Even if you have a big boodie, Jewells is easy to get on and off of because she stands still while you do it - even if you choose to mount and dismount from the ground, use a stool (or ladder), or do it cowboy style. If you're not real experienced at bridling and saddling, no worries. Spring's at piece of cake as demonstrated in this video of her being bridled by a 5'2" young girl. She literally lowers her head and puts her face into the bridle for her.

Jewells was Amish bred and broke, but she was no plow horse working in the fields. She was fancy broke to ride and drive. The man who I bought her from, purchased her from the Amish and owned her for 8 years and also owend her half sister, Spring. He use them exclusively to pull his carriage. I have owned them for more than a year, and I re-started them under saddle, and they have been ridden exclusively on my farm. Horses like Jewells don't come along every day (watch the video of the girl transferring from one horse over to Jewells without even so much as a halter on her head), so don't wait to come see her. This nice horse is for sale and could be yours for $9,900.
