Fabio is a 6 year-old, 15.2 to 15.3 hand draft Quarter Horse crossbred gelding. (He is literally between 15.2 and 15.3 hands tall.) Given his young age, he is remarkably calm and gentle for kids, beginners, and timid riders of all ages. He can be ridden English, Western, or bareback. During the 2 years that we've owned him, Fabio has taken many rookies out on our trails. Kids as young as 6 years old have trail ridden him with their families and alone at our summer camp. If you're an inexperienced rider, you can relax and enjoy your ride. He has also done 'pony rides' at offsite festivals and family reunions. If you like to load up and ride off your farm, you'll be happy to know that Fabio loads like a dream. See the video of him loading into a horse trailer in less than 11 seconds! He travels quiet - no pawing the sides of your trailer or rocking it and causing it to fishtail as you go down the highway. He travels like a professional. We recently took him to do a special ride for a family on their own farm to satisfy a Christmas wish. We loaded, hauled, and immediately groomed, saddled, and rode hin in an unfamiliar place. In fact, we used him as the lead guide horse.
Whether you like to ride at the front, the middle, the back... or alone, Fabio rides incredibly well. He doesn't fight against the bit to get to the front or ride the rump of the horse in front of him. He's totally relaxed in any position that you'd like to ride amongst a group of horses. He's one of our favorite horses to use for private rides when our customers want to trot and canter because Fabio will canter reliably with no buck.
Friendly could easily be Fabio's middle name. He's very social and easy to catch. In fact, he comes to you when you enter his pasture.
