Dusty is a 12 year-old, Palomino Quarter Horse gelding. He literally stands between 14.2 and 14.3 hands, i.e. 14.2 and 1/2 hands. He's calm, gentle, and affectionate. He's the perfect age to teach kids and new riders how to ride because he knows what he's doing even if his rider doesn't. I've owned Dusty more than a year and a half, so he has dutifully worked 2 summer camp seasons for us. The rest of the year, he takes kids and adults up to 180 lbs on trail rides. He's a great size for kids, teens, or anyone who's somewhat 'vertically challenged'. In other words, he's every bit a horse, AND he's easy to get on and off given that his shoulders and back don't tower over your head.

Dusty loads like a dream, so you'll never have to worry that you'll miss an offsite ride or show because you can't load your horse. You can bear witness to that by watching the video of him loading AND unloading into a horse trailer in just 18 seconds! When you're hauling him, you'll have to be careful that you don't forget that you've got horses on because he rides so quietly. He's a seasoned traveler so he's relaxed and not sweating bullets when you arrive at your destination.
Dusty will ride in any position amongst a group of horses, but he's very content to mosey down the trail in the midst of the group or at the rear. He will go along at the same pace as the rest of the group. He doesn't chomp at the bit to make his way to the front. He has a nice jog and canter; he's a real pleasure to ride. You can see how easily our camp kids have ridden him on our trails for the past 2 summers. Dusty is well mannered and easy to catch. You can spray him for flies without any drama, and he's easy to saddle and bridle. In other words, he's not cinchy nor will you have to crosstie him just to get the saddle on. This is a nice horse for beginners, kids, or seniors looking for a calm horse that won't dump you. He's safe, sane, and reliable. He'll be the same today, tomorrow, and the next day even if he sits up for months without being ridden. This good looking Quarter Horse is for sale for just $8,500.
